Arizona Rules for Employing Minors

Employers in Arizona must conform with these state rules relating to the employment of minors.

Minors under the age of 18 cannot be employed in a wide variety of dangerous occupations, including operation of a motor vehicle or other power equipment, unless an employer obtains a variance.

Minors under the age of 16 may not be employed in manufacturing or processing, construction, laundries, warehousing and a variety of other dangerous activities.
