Indiana Minimum Wage Law

Employers in Indiana must conform with these state rules regarding the minimum wage paid to employees.

The minimum wage in Indiana is $7.25 per hour.

Employers in Indiana must pay at least the minimum wage established under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Employers with two or more employees during any workweek, including the state of Indiana and its political subdivisions, are covered by the state minimum wage laws. Excluded are those employers subject to the provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

The term employees does not include:

Indiana law prohibits a county, municipality or a township from establishing, mandating or otherwise requiring a minimum wage that exceeds the state or federal minimum wage.
