Restrictions on Firing Employees in Indiana
Employers in Indiana are subject to these state rules that restrict firing employees under certain circumstances.
Indiana laws make it unlawful for an employer to:
- fail to allow employees time off to vote
- interfere with an employee who serves on jury duty
- deny equal employment opportunity
- violate protections for veterans or reservists
- retaliate against an employee for filing a safety complaint or wage claim or for reporting violations of a law or misuses of public resources
