Restrictions on Firing Employees in Kansas
Employers in Kansas are subject to these state rules that restrict firing employees under certain circumstances.
Kansas laws make it unlawful for an employer to:
- fire an employee for testifying before the Secretary of Human Resources
- fail to allow employees time off to vote or for jury duty
- deny equal employment opportunity
- retaliate against an employee for filing a wage claim
- fire an employee for having wages garnished
- violate protections for veterans or reservists
