Paying Terminated Employees in Missouri

Employers in Missouri must comply with these state requirements when making the final wage payment to terminated employees.

In Missouri, employees discharged from corporations must be paid on the day of discharge or within seven days if paid by mail at the employee's request.

Upon failure to pay, wages will continue to accrue at the employee's regular rate until paid or for up to 60 days, unless a lawsuit is commenced within that time.

An employee who quits must be paid on the next regular payday.
