Conducting Criminal Record Checks in Nevada

Employers in Nevada are permitted or required to conduct criminal record checks in accordance with these rules.

Employees or prospective employees of a foster home or child care facility licensee and every adult resident therein must submit a set of fingerprints and written authorization to forward them to the FBI for a criminal background check.

Applicants for security guard work cards may be required by a county sheriff to submit their fingerprints for a criminal background check by the FBI.

A landlord of dwelling units intended and operated exclusively for persons 55 years and older may not employ a person to work on the premises unless the person has a work card issued by the sheriff.
