Ohio Rules for Employing Minors

Employers in Ohio must conform with these state rules relating to the employment of minors.

In Ohio, except as otherwise provided, a minor of compulsory school age may not be employed unless the minor presents to the employer a proper age-and-schooling certificate.

The employer must keep the certificate on file and available for inspection by an enforcement official.
