Restrictions on Firing Employees in Oklahoma
Employers in Oklahoma are subject to these state rules that restrict firing employees under certain circumstances.
Oklahoma laws make it unlawful for an employer to:
- fire any employee because of jury duty
- fail to permit time off to vote
- deny equal employment opportunity
- retaliate against an employee for filing a workers' compensation claim
- fire an employee for having wages withheld for child support or for garnishment by one creditor in a year
