Employers in Pennsylvania must comply with these state rules relating to meals and break times.
Pennsylvania does not have general meal and rest period laws. However, special provisions apply to minors and seasonal farm workers.
Minors may not work for more than five continuous hours without a rest or meal period of at least 30 minutes.
Seasonal farm workers cannot be required to work more than five continuous hours without receiving a meal or rest period of at least 30 minutes. The meal or rest period is not considered part of the total hours of labor.
Meal or rest periods of less than 30 minutes cannot be counted as an interruption of a continuous period of work.
