Jury Duty Leave Rules in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico employers must provide employees with leave for jury duty in accordance with these state rules.

Employers may not discharge, threaten to discharge, reduce the salary, demote or impose onerous working conditions on an employee because the employee is summoned to serve or has served as a juror.

Any person who has had to be absent from employment to act as a juror may, at such person's discretion, charge the time away from work to the person's regular vacation leave.
